- A persistent sore throat
- The feeling that something is caught at the back of the throat
- Persistent or lasting sores on the face, neck or mouth which bleed easily and do not heal within two weeks
- Unexplained bleeding in your mouth
- Ear pain
- Lumps, bumps or rough spots on the gums, lips or other areas of the mouth
- Red, white or speckled red-and-white patches in the mouth
- Difficulty chewing, speaking or swallowing
- Changes in the fit of your dentures and oral appliances
- Changes in your bite or in how your teeth fit together
